My Journey
How it all started
I completed my BA in Graphic Design, exploring the foundations, history, technical concepts, and craftsmanship. This sparked awareness and sensitivity in my role as a designer. I began analyzing everyday objects, questioning their function, and studying how I interacted with them.
Working for an agency
I started my career at Kamikaze Lab a digital agency, approaching design challenges for well-known brands. The fast-paced environment pushed me to finesse my technical skills as I worked in different projects that went from social media to apps and websites.
As I grew in the agency, I got more and more involved in the strategic side of the creative process, which strengthened my conceptualization and storytelling experience.
Navigating crypto
I landed as a Product Designer at Bitso, Mexico's leading crypto exchange, immersing myself in the world of crypto, blockchain, and trading to create top-notch solutions for their products. At Bitso, I designed a user-friendly and engaging trading experience on their mobile app, making crypto accessible to people in Mexico. This work involved launching new features that lined up with the company’s vision and complied with regulations without introducing friction for users.
My way through software development
My path as a web designer naturally evolved towards a stronger focus on user experience. This led me to join a software development company, where I worked in projects where I integrated UX principles into solutions that catered to both user needs and business objectives.
In this time, I honed my communication skills with cross-functional partners. Collaborating with the engineering team allowed me to understand their perspective, creating a space of empathy and humility that helped us come up with brilliant ideas.
I joined the Instagram team as a Product Designer, working with some of the industry's most talented minds, addressing challenges affecting millions a day. Along the way, I embraced principles like simplicity, rigor, and humility, which reshaped my approach to problem-solving in design – achieving simplicity is far from simple; it demands thoroughness and intentionality.
